A Tradition of Serving Children and Families in Crisis since 1878 Mars Home for Youth started ministering to the needs of children and families in 1878 in Allegheny City (which is now Pittsburgh's North Side). The Home moved in 1929 to its present location on 140 acres in scenic southwest Butler County.
MHY provides therapy, counseling, life skills training and ongoing support for children and their biological and foster families. Their hallmark is a residential care program for troubled and abused children and youth from the ages of 10 to 18. MHY also offers a range of community based services for at-risk youth and families.
Directions to MHY: MHY is located on Rt. 228 directly across from the Mars High School. It is approximately 2.25 miles west of Rt.#8 and approximately 2.25 miles from Treesdale Country Club.

The 2008 Paul Wilhelm Pro-am was a huge success and the Mars Home for Youth wants to thank all of the sponsors, the volunteers, the LPGA players, the golf participants and especially the committee that made it all happen. The event raised in excess of $59,000 dollars for the Mars Home for Youth. Enough money to do any of the following;
403 hours of individual, group and family therapy for 50 kids for approximately 6 months.
232 nights (33 weeks) of food and shelter for a single child.
Clothing for 194 children.
Four months of food service that provides each child with breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime snack.
Daily tuition for six children for an entire school year.
Anyone who played a part in making this years event such a success should be proud , no matter how big or small their role. Mars Home for Youth cannot exist without the kindness and generosity of others. We thank you for your dedication and hard work in an effort to support the work we do to better the lives of children and their families. Since the inception of this event five years ago, we have raised a quarter of a million dollars for MHY.
